Rare Cool Stuff Opens Vintage Rock T-Shirts Store on eBay
RCS’s Geoff Gans & Stephen K. Peeples launch eBay store with loads of vintage rock tees dating back to the 1970s
Geoff Gans and I and our associate producer Paige were working on the RareCoolStuff.com website last year and got to talking about all the rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia Geoff and I have accumulated working in the music business over the last 40 years.
Including rock ‘n’ roll T-shirts. Geoff and I realized we have HUNDREDS of T-shirts between us – all kinds of artist and band tees, concert tees, record company promo tees. Most have been in storage for 15-20 years or more.
“You guys should put all those on eBay,” Paige piped up.
A few lightbulbs went off.
After some online research, we saw there was big demand for real-deal, bona-fide vintage rock promo T-shirts, and that even though we saw a lot of them, our stash was WAY more rare and cool than most.
And because we’re not greedy or desperate — our primary goal is to clear out our storage lockers, not to make a killing — Geoff and I decided we could totally undersell everyone else who had anything remotely close to our rare, cool stuff.
So we decided to pool our rare, cool T-shirts and conspired to open the RARE COOL VINTAGE ROCK T-SHIRTS store on eBay.
We took a bunch of photos and launched RARE COOL VINTAGE ROCK T-SHIRTS on the down-low just before Christmas and the orders started pouring in. We were shocked since we did zero promo other than a bit of Facebook posting, and our product photos are DIY.
We’re just getting started.
For openers we have about 25 really rare, cool T-shirts posted – Lennon, McCartney/Wings, Harrison, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Sex Pistols, Steve Miller, John Fogerty and lots more. And we’re adding new batches weekly.
Here’s the eBay link and a shortened link for the store.
Geoff and I invite you to visit, shop around, see what you think, let us know.
And we hope you’ll share with the rock ‘n’ rollers among your family and friends!
