Sporting a cover photo of Slash sitting at the hotel’s front entrance, this limited-edition deluxe first printing of “If These Walls Could Rock: 50 Years at the Legendary Sunset Marquis Hotel” was penned by the family-owned hotel’s co-owners Mark Rosenthal and Craig Williams. They recount previously untold tales of fun and debauchery at the infamous West Hollywood rock ‘n’ roll hideout where other icons including Keith Richards, The Ramones, Cindy Lauper, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Debbie Harry, Green Day, U2 and more holed up and/or partied while in town.
“If These Walls Could Rock” is generously illustrated by mostly unpublished photos of the celebrated guests by renowned rock shooters including Julius Shulman, Bob Gruen, Timothy White, Ross Halfin and Robert Knight. The lavish coffee-table book was designed by Rare Cool Stuff’s Geoff Gans, a five-time Grammy nominee, and produced in L.A. at Dorado Music Packaging, where RCS’s Gary Gonzales kept it domestic and green.
